Join Canton Comedy Boom at Patina Arts Centre on Saturday August 10 for our Comedy Variety Show, an exciting mash up of stand-up, sketch, and improv comedy!
There is something for everyone in this show and it promises to be a night of non-stop laughter and entertainment from some of the region’s most creative actors and comedians!
Featured stand-up acts include Pittsburgh comedian, Joe Esch, and Cleveland actor, Neil Conroy. Sketch comedy will be brought to you by Canton Comedy Boom’s own Lydia Carmany, Eric M Simons, and Matt Thompson. Canton-based improv troupe, Brain Farts Royale will provide an interactive comedy experience, spontaneously creating hilarious scenes and characters based on audience feedback.
Joe Esch is a “sweet candy boy and renowned homosexual from Pittsburgh. Being America's premier gay comic, his engaging storytelling and out-of-no-where punchlines are on par with that of the average lesbian comic. Joe is a rising national favorite who has recently opened for the likes of Joe Pera, Jay Jurden, Andrea Jin, and Sam Tallent. He also makes it a point to stay humble and live and die at the blade's serendipitously placed edge.”
Neil Conroy is an actor from Cleveland, Ohio. Some previous roles of his include Chris in Stage Frights, Professor Plum in Clue, and Elmer in Newsies, for which he earned a Dazzle Award nomination. When he's not acting, he enjoys playing guitar, reading, writing, photography, and carefully crafting Spotify playlists based on films and characters. Neil’s act is wholly unique, goofy, and off-kilter, making him a perfect addition to this smorgasbord of comedic stylings.
