Canton Comedy Boom Presents: Hannah Belmont at Patina Arts Centre on Thursday Aug 15!

Join us for an evening of hilarious stand-up comedy from some of Ohio’s funniest young comedians!

Hannah Belmont is one of Ohio’s fastest up-and-coming comics and we are thrilled to host her on the CCB main stage. Hannah is the head of the Oberlin College Stand-Up Comedy Coalition where she books and produces shows for the college. Her own standup act has graced stages all over the Midwest, including Hilarities, The Laugh Factory, Second City, and several Don’t Tell comedy shows. She has also performed in many festivals, including The Rubber City Comedy Festival, Cleveland Comedy Festival, and Sixth City Comedy Festival. Hannah’s material is as sharp as her wit, and unafraid to call out our worst instincts. Her act is honest, blunt, and delivered with a charm that endears audiences to her quickly. We can’t wait to host her here in Canton!

The show will feature actor, filmmaker, and comedian, Jo Rou. Jo’s material focuses on the offbeat and subversive. She has written and starred in videos that have been featured on CollegeHumor, Funny or Die, Huffpost, Glamour,  E! Online and is a former performer at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. Her comedy pilot, I Adore Dolores, won "Most Outrageous" at the Orlando Film Festival. Jo has worked for The Onion, Saturday Night Live, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. She “is also queer AF” and one of CCB’s favorites!

Females of Comedy all-star, Sara Short will be opening for these two local powerhouses of comedy. Sara has performed in Canton, Akron, Cleveland, and Columbus. She brings a fresh perspective to the struggles of everyday life with her introspective and observational humor. Sara pokes fun at herself, marriage, aging, and more. Nothing is off limits and her sets have always left the crowd in stitches.

And a special guest spot includes one of Youngstown's funniest: Chloe Jackson! Chloe has killed on our stage several times now, she's a show-runner and producer in her hometown and a pleasure to work with.

As always, the Patina gallery and studios will be open for viewing and we encourage you to check out our downtown Canton page for a list of bars, restaurants, and shops within walking distance of the show!
