Bill Squire & John Armstrong
Join Canton Comedy Boom on Saturday May 3rd for a night of hilarious stand-up comedy with Jo Rou, John Armstrong, and Bill Squire!
In 2004, at the age twenty-two, Bill Squire was just your regular old excommunicated Mormon missionary trying to find his way through life. Returning from a two-year-long Mormon mission in the Philippines, Bill found his voice on stage traveling the country telling jokes as he relentlessly pursued stage time.
Bill has several comedy specials and albums that have been viewed and listened to millions of times. He has been seen on Comedy Central, he was a regular cast member on the cult favorite YouTube series, Man in the Box, starring opposite Cleveland comedy legend and Red Lobster regular, Mike Polk Jr. He has also appeared on tv shows like Laughs on Fox and Hulu.
Family is a priority for Bill, although his time on the road means a lot to him, from 2013 to 2024 Bill co-hosted The Alan Cox Show, an afternoon talk show on 100.7 WMMS in Cleveland. He has become part of a larger family of millions of devoted listeners/viewers on iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, Pandora, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher. He also co-hosts his wildly popular podcast Cleveland America with friends Tommi LC and OkPants.
Joining Bill on stage, we have two of the hardest working and creative comedians from Cleveland, John Armstrong, and Jo Rou.

Join Canton Comedy Boom at Patina Arts Centre on Saturday, January 25th for our Comedy Variety Show, an exciting mash up of stand-up, sketch, and improv comedy!
This high-energy show has something for everyone: sketch comedy written by Canton Comedy Boom and a performance by the Brain Farts Royale improv troupe bring hilarious situational humor and character comedy to the stage. The show will also feature a new episode of The News Room, where we poke fun at the news and offer playful commentary on current events! And stand-up comedy by Stephanie Ginese and headliner, Elliot Jarrous.
Elliot is a Palestinian-American stand-up comedian and writer from Cleveland. With his love of making the most out of the mundane, as well as his conscientious perspectives on race, class, love, and masculinity, Elliot has quickly made a name for himself in the comedy world, opening for notable headliners like Kiry Shabazz, Jermaine Fowler and Bill Squire. When he’s not performing you can find Elliot scouring eBay for vintage Levis 505’s and mid-century Egyptian movie posters, but he’d much rather see you in the crowd!

Black Power Rangers Comedy Tour
Join Canton Comedy Boom on Saturday Jan 18th for the Black Power Rangers Comedy Tour!
The Black Power Rangers Comedy Tour was founded by comedian, Wills Maxwell Jr. Each show is a celebration of Black community, culture, and resilience.
The tour has grown over the past couple years to include new cities, and we are so excited that the tour will be adding the Canton Comedy Boom stage to their 2025 stops!
A Black Power Rangers Comedy Show features a revolving lineup of touring comics joined by talented special guest comics, creating a unique experience in every city.
Wills Maxwell Jr. started doing stand-up comedy when he was in 4th grade. His teacher didn’t appreciate him interrupting the class and his parents didn’t appreciate him getting in trouble. Due to the lack of appreciation, Wills retired from the business and started doing stand-up comedy again after he left high school.
Since resuming his comedy career, Wills has won Port City’s Top Comic, was a regional finalist in StandUp NBC, and a finalist at Ultimate Comic Challenge. He also wrote and performed his on-air comedy news segment “What Did We Miss?” on Wilmington TV station WWAY News every Thursday morning for five years, totaling over 180 episodes.
Wills has performed at the Cola Comedy Convention, the North Carolina Comedy Festival, the Oak City Comedy Festival and the Cape Fear Comedy Festival. Wills hosted Wilmington’s late-night talk show “Late Fear with Wills Maxwell” for three years. He has also opened for several well-known comedians, including Ramy Youssef, Roy Wood Jr., Tim Meadows, and Jim Gaffigan.

G.W. Nell is high energy, bawdy, and self-deprecating with an obscene confidence that makes her a crowd favorite at clubs throughout the region. GW captivates crowds with her trademark vulnerability and raunchy honesty.
From raising her kids to hunting Herschels at the Elks Lodge, GW can find the funny in anything. She’s an original member of the Females of Comedy and many local comics consider her their den mother. Her experience and wisdom were fundamental in the creation of our merry little organization, and we are so excited to host her as a headliner on our mainstage!
Tony Bowers is a nationally featured comic based in Cleveland. His anecdotal style and boisterous stage presence has garnered him a reputation as a comic on the rise. A family man with an amusing perspective and larger than life personality, Tony keeps audiences from all walks of life engaged and entertained with stories about his family, his time spent living in the ghetto, and notes on culture. This will be his first time on our mainstage and we are thrilled to be hosting him here in Canton!
Opening for these two heavy hitters will be comedian, Steven Prince. CCB and Females of Comedy co-founder, KC Curry, will be your hostess with the most-est for the evening.

The Females of Comedy are a Northeast Ohio-based stand-up troupe of comedians formed in 2022 out of Canton Comedy Boom. From work and travel to poignant and ironic moments in motherhood and post-divorce dating, the Females of Comedy illuminate the tragicomedy of life through a distinctly female lens.
The Funny Farm’s Niles location is the newest club under the Farm’s banner. Unlike the satellite shows you might be used to, the Niles location will be a more permanent fixture and will become the Funny Farm’s new main stage!
